Leisure and Pleasure - Near and Far

Beauvallon Lagoon with its lovely clear aqua blue lake & manmade beach is just 10 minutes, a great place to enjoy a swim, mess around in  pedallos, have a drink at the bar or eat at the BBQ restaurant. Or Brossac Lakes is nearby for many more outdoor activities & panoramic views of the lake from the restaurant/bar. For high energy fun try 'le lac de frisson' for jet skiing & quad biking, or the moto-sport circuit near Martron.  For food & wine lovers, it's an opportunity to sample the regional  specialities as well as great wine, pineau & cognac, from traditional street markets & local producers, to famous chateaux.  At night, you can enjoy the simple ambience of  local bars & restaurants or treat yourself to gastronomic dining at places such as the renowned Chateau restaurant at Chalais.

Many interesting places to visit further afield, such as, Aubeterre, Cognac, Jonzac, Blaye, St. Emillion & Bordeaux & the fantastic beaches & resorts along the the estuary & Atlantic coast, from quaint Talmont, the extensive golden sands at Royan onto pretty coastal spots on the côte sauvage, such as St Palais sur mer.
